The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious technical universities, traces its roots back to the Institutum Geometrico-Hydrotechnicum, founded in 1782. As the first institute in Europe to offer engineering training within a university structure, BME has a long tradition of academic excellence and innovation.


Located on the scenic Buda side of the Danube River, between Szabadság Bridge and Petőfi Bridge, the university boasts a campus that is as impressive in history as it is in size.
